I have been coming here for many years.......the only sensible place to eat Japanese food in the Colchester area. Food is very good sushi always fresh and well presented........very popular worth booking at peak time

I never really do reviews, but this time i felt like i have to do it, Just went their with my boyfriend, ohhh it was the best food we had, the lion king sushi was banging, honey glased chicken were heaven, katasu curry was so different and delicious and the salmon sushi was sooo yumyy, can’t wait to come here again and try their other different sushi’s and dumplings, worth every penny, staff is really nice and sweet, atmosphere so nice and cozy, perfect for date nights, thank you so much for the delicious food
Walking in to Aburi you instantly know that you are entering an unpretentious eatery where the quality of the food is paramount. Service is swift and they have a good selection of Japanese beers while you look through the menu. Food arrives as soon as it's ready and, when it does, the smell alone is worth 5 stars. We've visited far more expensive Japanese/Asian restaurants. They have fancy interiors and fancy waiting staff. But Aburi has the best Japanese food I've ever eaten. Simply delicious and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. A hidden gem in the heart of Colchester.

So, I have eaten a lot of sushi in my years, and this has to be by far the best. It was mouth-watering, tasty, and excellent-priced. I couldn’t recommend this enough. I ate there this afternoon, and it wasn’t busy, but the standard of service and food did not falter. I’m so impressed. The Lion King Maki was a hit. Ordered 2. See picture.
